Clark School offers a stimulating multi-age, small-class learning environment for students in Preschool through Grade 12. Job Postings

  • Clark School is searching for a part-time Academic Support Teacher for our Lower School, whose responsibilities would include supporting students in our Lower School program (grades K-6). Candidates should have experience supporting students with content across the curriculum, including (but not limited to) Literature/English, History, Math, and Science. This position reports to the Director of Academic Support.

    This position is for approximately 22.5 hours per week, with a schedule of 8:00am-12:30pm.

    Qualified Applicants:

    • Have earned a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, preferably Special Ed

    • Have 1-3 years experience working with students in these grades, and proven skills working with Special Ed students in those grades

    • Will connect with students and provide an enjoyable learning experience

    General Duties and Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):

    • Small-group or one-to-one lesson reinforcement and testing support

    • Assist students with organizational and study skills

    • Support in all curricular areas

    • Participate in curriculum development, faculty and division meetings, and professional growth endeavors

    • Read and understand student support documents; present relevant information to staff as needed

    • Utilize technology for instructing students, maintaining grades, communicating information to parents, and promoting student and program achievements

    • Provide meaningful and creative instruction to a diverse group of students in a hands-on, experiential learning environment

    • Ability to adapt curriculum to the needs of students and to accommodate circumstances where a variety of projects are being worked on simultaneously

    • Significant use of technology while delivering the curriculum and content, including (but not limited to): Use of the Google Suite across multiple devices and Use of Student Information System (Alma)

    • Respect and value individual differences and diversity; model non-discriminatory practices in all activities

    • Evaluate academic and social growth of students and keep appropriate records while communicating with students and parents on student progress

    • Maintain standards of student behavior for a positive and productive learning environment

    • Collaborate with peers to develop curriculum, plan activities, and monitor student progress

    • Work with a team of educators to create a positive learning environment

    • Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook

    Specific Training/Skills:

    • Experience with Wilson Fundations a plus

    A Massachusetts teaching certificate is a plus, but not required. All employees are subject to a fingerprint check and a background investigation, per state law.

    Working conditions for this position may include standing, sitting, bending, lifting, being outside in cold or hot weather.
